Party Wall Act
|
I served a party wall notice to my neighbour a couple of weeks ago. Initially he ignored (not refused) the request. the 14 day period has now passed so in theory we are now in dispute. However yesterday he agreed to sign the request. Question is, does he have to back date the request or if he has now agreed does it matter that the 14 day period has expired?
Can't find much on Google? Anyone have any experience in this area?

Just get him to backdate the response if not too long has elapsed.
No real issue if he’s not going to be difficult. Should’ve geared him up with a chat first.

ive had to pay out significantly more, after my builder promised me that what he was doing wasnt a party wall issue, then hacked out the footings of the foundations.
it may cost for the survey, but always worth it for the insurance.

I had a dispute cost me £2k in fees, not amused.
So long as they sign the party wall agreement and agree you'll be OK. I would suggest that the date is amendedd and you both sign it as a change

what propodkin said.
As long as you have a signed agreement then the dates don't come into play.

as long as you have agreement I don't think the date matters, the dates only matter really in the timings of disputes
